This fellowship involved primarily cosmetic surgery except for the reconstructive eyelid surgeries.  Dr. Carraway has an International reputation for eyelid surgery and sees patients from all over the country.

Dr. Thomas Baker popularized the techniques for chemical peels many years ago.  He and his partners have held an Annual Cosmetic Symposium for over 30 years. They have also written several textbooks on cosmetic surgery and speak at the national plastic surgery meetings each year.

Training in Europe - Summer 1996

Dr. Short spent four weeks in Paris working with five different surgeons.   Her experience included ultrasonic liposuction, facial procedures (endoscopic and traditional), subperiosteal facelifts and a variety of breast procedures.  She learned different approaches to traditional techniques and a number of new techniques from experts in their fields.  Her training continued with four weeks in Great Britain where she learned more about reconstructive and cosmetic eyelid surgery at the Moorfields Eye Hospital, an internationally recognized institution in London.  She completed her experience in Glasgow, Scotland, where at Canniesburn Hospital she assisted with a microvascular procedure.
