Our Staff

Dr. Short and her staff work closely and cohesively as a team coordinating, advising and utilizing a host of modalities to benefit every patient in their care and quest for understanding using compassion, gentleness, and open communication. Our team concept allows patients to look as good as they can, regardless of age, while still maintaining a natural result. Dr. Short’ philosophy and passion for plastic surgery whether its surgical or non-surgical options is evident with each member on the Gillian Institute team.

 

Melissa Yurack, Patient & Clinical Coordinator

Melissa Yurack is a licensed Medical Assistant with both a degree in Medical Assisting and Business Administration. This allows Melissa to bring the best of both worlds to our practice as our Patient and Clinical Coordinator. Melissa, having once been a patient, can empathize with the wants and needs of our patients.

Since Melissa began at our practice, she has been training with Dr. Short to perform Botox and Juvederm injections. She is also certified by Allergan, the makers of Botox and Juvederm, to perform these injections. Melissa is also certified to perform Ultherapy.

I enjoy everything from talking to the patients on the phone, to meeting them at the consultations and following them through their surgery and post-op care. Casey Crawford, Aesthetic Coordinator

Casey Crawford has been a licensed aesthetician practicing as a medical aesthetician with top Indianapolis dermatologists since 2001. Her emphasis has always been “healthy skin care.”

She has been highly trained in multiple lasers for skin rejuvenation. Crawford was one of the first aestheticians in Indianapolis to be personally trained by San Diego Dermatologist Dr. Patrick Bitters, creator of the Foto Facial using IPL (intense pulse light).

Casey’s continuing education and passion for the beauty and skin care industry has led her to combine her knowledge and experience with plastic surgery.

“With my many years in skin care and today’s rejuvenation technologies, my goal is to help all my clients achieve beautiful skin with the freedom of being make-up free.”

 

Niki Mosier, Licensed Aesthetician

Niki, our primary south side aesthetician, has been in the medical field since 1995.  She came to the Gillian Institute as a patient and started her career with our office while she was completing her aesthetician training.  Niki is a skilled laser technician and our patients find her experience and personal approach endearing.  Her knowledge of skin care procedures and products allows her to develop individualized and effective medical skin care regimen which provide our patients with dramatic results.  This is clearly evidenced by our patients loyalty and confidence in the care they receive from Niki.

Niki, the mother of two beautiful girls, brings a unique insight as a parent and a mother who understands the changes women go through following pregnancy.  She is able to discuss the benefits of plastic surgery and understands and treats the skin care concerns of our patients.  Her enthusiasm and genuine interest in our patients is immediately apparent.  Niki takes time to listen and takes pride in educating patients about their options.  She enjoys the dynamic nature of the field of aesthetics and prides herself in keeping up with the latest techniques and treatments available.  Her advanced training in microderm abrasion, dermaplaning, laser resurfacing, and both ablative and non-ablative treatments allow her to offer patients many options and to tailor her approach to their specific needs.  Dramatic results are not uncommon for Niki who says, “getting great results for my patients is my passion.”

 

Lila Sierra, Advertising & Promotions Manager

Originally from Cartagena, Colombia, Lila Sierra moved to Indianapolis, Indiana to study English and to achieve her goals of becoming bilingual and a fashion consultant in 2005. She graduated from the Art Institute of Indianapolis with a Bachelor of Science degree in Fashion Retail Management. In 2004, she received her Business Administration with a minor in International Business degree from Universidad del Norte in Barranquilla, Colombia.

More recently in 2012, Lila attended Sterling Style Academy, New York and received certification as a Color Consultant, Fashion Stylist, and Personal Shopper.

Lila’s cultural background and her extensive traveling to Europe and through South America has given her a wide view of fashion and style from around the world. She is able to use her background in fashion and image consulting to market to specific clients at The Gillian Institute. Lila brings a fresh concept to all marketing materials and is able to relate to patients and offer additional image advice if necessary.

“I love to be able to bring a smile to a patients face, I want to be sure that the marketing material I create brings them into the office with a smile. After receiving a service, I like to personally see to them leaving with one as well. I believe harmony is a fundamental element of fashion. Harmony helps you to balance your style, brings balance to the colors palette that you identify with, and can make you feel one with yourself.”
