Dr. Short and her staff work closely and cohesively as a team coordinating, advising and utilizing a host of modalities to benefit every patient in their care and quest for understanding using compassion, gentleness, and open communication. Our team concept allows patients to look as good as they can, regardless of age, while still maintaining a natural result. Dr. Short’ philosophy and passion for plastic surgery whether its surgical or non-surgical options is evident with each member on the Gillian Institute team.
Michelle Moser, Clinical Coordinator
Michelle, a 20 year verteran of the nursing field, found her true niche when she came to the Gillian Institute as a patient. In Michelle’s words, “I knew this was where I wanted to work as soon as I walked in the door. I was completely confident after I met Dr. Short and the staff. The atmosphere was elegant yet casual I was reassured as a patient, that they would take great care of me. After my surgery, I applied for the position. I love the plastic surgery field and our patients. It’s the best of all worlds.” That was 6 years ago!
Starting in 2005, Michelle’s patient experience has been a huge asset in allowing her to understand our patients. She is excellent with patient education, a cornerstone of our practice, and she brings a compassionate and professional aspect to patient care that only a nurse who was a patient can bring.
In addition, Michelle’s management experience from previously supervising a large health care facility has made her a great asset to the practice and our patients. Her teaching and communication skills are exemplary. Our patients are very complimentary of our team approach and cohesiveness they feel from our staff. Michelle is often singled out in our patient survey’s because of her knowledge and personalized approach. She brings a variety of talents, as she is versatile in all aspects of patient care. From the initial consult and teaching to recovery and post-operative care. Michelle is confident and compassionate in all her nursing skills.
Donna Walker, LPN, Clinical Nurse
Donna, our longest employee at the Gillian Institute, came to work for us in 2002. She brings over 30 years of nursing experience and also was a patient. Her calm and professional nuture reassures patients and her out-patient experience allows her to understand and sympathize with their concerns and desires. Donna is excellent in both pre-operative teaching and post-operative care. Dr. Short frequently receives compliments from patients on her personalized attention to them and their care. Donna provides our south side patients the opportunity to schedule their post-operative appointments and some of their post-operative care at the south office. Her dedication to patient care is surpassed only by her clinical skills.
After training with Dr. Short for 5 years, Donna is also a skilled injector of Botox™, Radiesse™, and Juvederm™ and performs these injections at our south side office to accommodate our patients. She has been performing injections since 200 _? and even treats Dr. Short.
Donna has embraced new advances in the field and her attention to details is easily seen in the beautiful results she obtains for patients and their consistent satisfaction.
Susan Doran, Aesthetics Director and Licensed Aesthetician
Susan Doran brings over 15 years of aesthetics experience with her and is Director of the Aesthetics Program referred to as La Belle Femme. La Bella Femme is the “The Beautiful Woman” and Susan Doran is personally supervised by Dr. Kimberly Short. With a physician mediated Aesthetics program, Susan Doran is able to offer patients medically based treatments and home care programs that are results oriented to meet her patients skin care goals. Susan Doran has excelled in this exciting, ever-changing field of Aesthetics and has advanced training in Chemical Peels, Laser Rejuvenating Procedures, Botox/Dermal Facial Injectables, and Micropigmentation. Susan Doran is one of the premier micorpigmentation artists in the Midwest with over 15 years of experience and performs several training sessions a year as well. Susan Doran has a wealth of knowledge and experience with injectable techniques such as Botox injections, and dermal filler injections such as Prevelle Silk, Juvederm, Restylane, and Perlane. Susan Doran believes in the Gillian philosophy of using injectables to provide a beautiful, natural looking restoration in patients and also understands the limitations. Susan Doran has advanced training in skin care products and will recommend a specialized treatment program customized to each patient. Susan Doran is able to bring the most medically advanced products to the Gillian Institute and oversees Dr. Short’s specially formulated compounds. Patients are impressed and confident with Susan Doran’s communication, artistry, and skill level. Susan Doran offers a compassionate, caring and yet very professional attitude at the Gillian Institute where patients feel a genuine sincerity and trust level in her recommendations.
Niki Mosier, Licensed Aesthetician
Niki, our primary south side aesthetician has been in the medical field since 1995. She also came to the Gillian Institute as a patient and started her career with our office while she was completing her aesthetician training. Niki is a skilled laser technician and our patients find her experience and personal approach endearing. Her knowledge of skin care procedures and products allows her to develop individualized and effective medical skin care regimen which provide our patients with dramatic results. This is clearly evidenced by our patients loyalty and confidence in the care they receive from Niki.
Niki, the mother of two beautiful girls, brings a unique insight as a parent and a mother who understands the changes women go through following pregnancy. She is able to discuss the benefits of plastic surgery and understands as well as treats the skin care concerns of our patients. Her enthusiasm and genuine interest in our patients is immediately apparent. Niki, takes time to listen and takes pride in educating patients about their options. She enjoys the dynamic nature of the field of aesthetics and prides herself in keeping up with the latest techniques and treatments available. Her advanced training in microderm abrasion, dermaplaning, laser resurfacing, and both ablative and non-ablative treatments allow her to offer patients many options and to tailor her approach to their specific needs. Dramatic results are not uncommon for Niki who says, “getting great results for my patients is my passion.”
Lyndsey Armstrong
Lyndsey has been with the Gillian Institute since 2007. Primarily our south side office supervisor, Lyndsey is dedicated to providing our patients with the best experience possible. A 2010 I.U. Graduate, she holds degrees in both Communications and Journalism, which has been beneficial in her dedication to help develop and organize our monthly specials and our newsletter.
Lyndsey had suffered from mild acne most of her life. Taking advantage of the resources available to her by working in our office she has become a true believer in the products and services we offer and now feels that with her skin care regimen she now has the skin she has always wanted. Lyndsey’s experience and knowledge allow her to easily answer our patients questions and her motivation to please them and make their visit to our office exceptional, make her a tremendous asset to both our practice and our patients.
In addition, Lyndsey’s communication skills and dedication to patient satisfaction are a definite benefit to the south side office patients. She still works one day a week in our north side facility because we all love to have her.
