Our Staff

Dr. Short and her staff work closely and cohesively as a team coordinating, advising and utilizing a host of modalities to benefit every patient in their care and quest for understanding using compassion, gentleness, and open communication. Our team concept allows patients to look as good as they can, regardless of age, while still maintaining a natural result. Dr. Short’ philosophy and passion for plastic surgery whether its surgical or non-surgical options is evident with each member on the Gillian Institute team.

Erin Hoke, PA-C, Clinical Coordinator/Supervisor and JKS Surgery Coordinator; Physician Assistant

Erin Hoke received her B.S. in the Physician Assistant program from Butler University. Erin Hoke graduated from Butler with Cum Laude Honors, indicating she was in the top 1% of her class. She has also received her B.S. in Medical Technology from Indiana University School of Medicine, as well as a B.S. in Biology from Indiana University. She was the recipient of the Clarian Internal Medicine Academic Achievement Award, the High Achievement Award, the “Physician’s Choice” Scholarship, and the Rachael L. Lehman Scholarship. Erin is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the Indiana Association of Physician Assistants, American Association of Plastic Surgery Physician Assistants, Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society, and Pi Beta Phi Sorority.

With a zest for creativity and a love of science, Erin Hoke combined her dedication as a patient advocate and quest to enlighten  with a career in the field of plastic surgery.  Erin Hoke also being a perfectionist believed in Dr. Short’s philosophy of redefining beauty by maintaining the feminine contours and giving patients a natural result.  Erin Hoke has an attention to detail that complements Dr. Short’s practice and she educates patients on the array of procedure options from surgical to non-surgical treatments.  Erin Hoke assists Dr. Short in customizing a treatment plan for each patient. Because Erin Hoke assists Dr. Short in the operating room, she is able to utilize her wealth of surgical experience to communicate to Dr. Short’s patients the techniques that Dr. Short uses in her procedures. In addition, Erin Hoke can answer a multitude of questions involving all aspects of cosmetic and reconstructive procedures. Erin Hoke assists in the patient education process and is available for consultations to explain and explore recommendations discussed with Dr. Short. Erin Hoke is also available for preoperative questions and post-operative assessments. Erin Hoke assists Dr. Short is taking after hour call and weekend call as well. Her professional manner, organization, and dedication to patient care will be obvious when you meet her. Erin Hoke will be a worthwhile resource and guide from the initial consultation to post surgery appointments.  With assisting and supervising at JKS Surgery, she will also be visible and communicative on the day of surgery with easing your anxiety in the preoperative area, to talking you through the operating room experience,  and making sure your comfortable in the recovery area and all questions have been answered prior to discharge.

Donna Walker, LPN, Clinical Nurse

Donna Walker, one of our clinic nurses, brings over 20 years of nursing experience to Dr. Short’s practice. Donna Walker’s experience as a patient of this practice prompted her to join the staff because she believes in what cosmetic surgery can do for a patients self confidence and well being and is dedicated to providing excellance in patient care. Her first hand knowledge of cosmetic procedures enables her to provide exceptional preoperative counseling and postoperative care. Donna Walker assists Dr. Short in seeing new patient consults, evaluates post-operative patients and performs preoperative appointments. Dr. Short has also trained Donna Walker to perform Botox injections to the facial region and dermal filler injectables for lip augmentation and improvement to the facial folds and wrinkles. Donna Walker has a wealth of knowledge and experience with injectable techniques such as Botox injections, and dermal filler injections such as Prevelle Silk, Juvederm, Restylane, and Perlane. Donna Walker believes in the Gillian philosophy of using injectables to provide a beautiful, natural looking restoration in patients and also understands the limitations.   Donna Walker is available at our Southside location every Tuesday for Botox injections, facial fillers, and preoperative and postoperative appointments; as well as Thursdays on the Northside location.

Susan Doran, Aesthetics Director and Licensed Aesthetician

Susan Doran brings over 15 years of aesthetics experience with her and is Director of the Aesthetics Program referred to as La Belle FemmeLa Bella Femme is the “The Beautiful Woman” and Susan Doran is personally supervised by Dr. Kimberly Short.  With a physician mediated Aesthetics program, Susan Doran is able to offer patients medically based treatments and home care programs that are results oriented to meet her patients skin care goals.  Susan Doran has excelled in this exciting, ever-changing field of Aesthetics and has advanced training in Chemical Peels, Laser Rejuvenating Procedures, Botox/Dermal Facial Injectables, and Micropigmentation.  Susan Doran is one of the premier micorpigmentation artists in the Midwest with over 15 years of experience and performs several training sessions a year as well. Susan Doran has a wealth of knowledge and experience with injectable techniques such as Botox injections, and dermal filler injections such as Prevelle Silk, Juvederm, Restylane, and Perlane. Susan Doran believes in the Gillian philosophy of using injectables to provide a beautiful, natural looking restoration in patients and also understands the limitations.  Susan Doran has advanced training in skin care products and will recommend a specialized treatment program customized to each patient.  Susan Doran is able to bring the most medically advanced products to the Gillian Institute and oversees Dr. Short’s specially formulated compounds.  Patients are impressed and confident with Susan Doran’s communication, artistry, and skill level.  Susan Doran offers a compassionate, caring and yet very professional attitude at the Gillian Institute where patients feel a genuine sincerity and trust level in her recommendations.

Niki Mosier, Licensed Aesthetician
Niki Mosier brings over 5 years of experience in the aesthetics industry and provides an unique insight as a surgical patient of the Gillian Institute as well.  Niki Mosier’s initial relationship with the Gillian Institute was as a patient desiring improvements after having two beautiful children.  Niki Mosier is able to understand  the changes mothers go through following pregnancy and feels comfortable discussing the benefits of plastic surgery with patients. With your first encounter with Niki Mosier, you will immediately see her enthusiasm and passion she has for the field of Aesthetics and plastic surgery.  Niki Mosier is a true believer in her services and recommends individualized skin care programs for patients. Niki Mosier enjoys taking the time to really listen to patients and educate patients on their options related to results and recovery period.  Niki Mosier has advanced training in skin care treatments such as microdermasbrasion, chemical peels, and laser procedures such as laser hair removal and resurfacing procedures.  Niki Mosier enjoys the dynamic nature of the field of Aesthetics and the understanding of the evolution of products and skin care techniques.  Niki Mosier is available on the Southside on Tuesdays, Fridays, and one Saturday a month and has Northside availability on Thursdays. Niki Mosier is also available during Dr. Short’s Botox evenings for questions as well.

Ashley Primeau, Patient Care Coordinator

The Gillian Institute is excited to welcome Ashley Primeau.  Ashley Primeau will be fulfilling the role of patient coordinator.  The patient coordinator role serves as the patient educator, financial consultant, and patient advocate among many more duties.  Ashley Primeau is a former Miss Indiana whom attended Indiana University majoring in Journalism/Advertising and Public Relations.  Ashley Primeau has many creative talents with design and imagery, an attention to detail and strong communication skills, which will be highlighted as her role as patient coordinator.  Ashely Primeau has a true passion in the field of cosmetic surgery and aesthetics services, which is evident with her zest for learning about the most updated techniques Dr. Short’s has to offer patients.  Ashley Primeau will be developing new patient care programs as well.  Ashley Primeau will be an excellent source for patients as they enter the journey and go through the experience of seeing the benefits of plastic surgery.
