I came to Dr. Short for a Breast Augmentation and tummy tuck about 3 1/2 years ago. I was a mother of 5 children and had spent the past 15 years giving birth and taking care of kids. Even before the kids though, I struggled with a poochy tummy. I decided for my 40th birthday that I was finally going to do something about it. I searched the internet extensively and finally found Dr. Short. The results she was showing on her website were exactly what I was looking for. I flew out from Washington State for my consultation and immediately liked her and her entire staff. They put me at ease and answered all my questions.
I was thrilled with the results of the surgery. I went immediately from a size 12 to a size 4. I couldn't believe it. The surgery got me so motivated that I continued to diet and exercise and have now dropped another 13 pounds and now wear a size 0. In addition to the fantastic results, Dr. Short and her staff made me feel like a girlfriend. I felt that they truly understood what my needs were, not just clinically, but from a woman's perspective. I can't recommend Dr. Short and her office enough for any cosmetic procedure. Thank you so much. It's the best thing I've ever done for myself.

I saw Susan for a chemical peel. I had some horrible, horrible tan lines in the shape of a v-neck t-shirt that would not go away! I got pretty burned early in May of 2011 and was getting married in September. After a few months of waiting they were just not disappearing. After trying every "home remedy" I could find, I decided to contact the Gillian Institute. This was only about three weeks before my wedding. The first time I met with Susan she instantly put me at ease. We did a pretty serious chemical peel (my first one ever) and I was sooooooo nervous about it. After a few days of looking like I was melting away, I started to see a very noticeable difference. I tried going to the tanner to even out my skin before, and it just wasn't working. Also, I didn't want to be "super tan bride" so I was nervous about that, too. After the chemical peel, Susan also gave me a bleaching cream to apply to the very light remaining lines. By the time my wedding day had arrived, I looked just as porcelain as I hoped for the big day! I was so happy with the results and could not be happier with the staff! Everyone was so nice and constantly reminded me that it was all going to work out. I am very thankful to all of them and highly recommend them! :)

I went to Dr. Short 2 years ago with an A cup breast size. She gave me a low C cup, and i get compliments on my breasts daily. They are very natural looking and feeling. A lot of people do not even believe me when I tell them I have had breast augmentation. Shes the best and I'm very very pleased with the outcome of the surgery.

I used Dr.Short for a breast enlargement. I was more then impressed with the results. They did a great job and I recommend her all the time to people who ask for a Dr. I went in with a lot of questions and attended a seminar that helped me feel at ease. The surgery was not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. I was back to normal in no time. The scars left are not even visible unless you look really hard. I highly recommend Dr.Short. They made me feel comfortable by having proper follow up appointments to make sure that everything was ok with surgery. I have nothing bad to say about my whole experience. It is going on three years now and I have had no complications at all. Dr. Short does a great job of giving you a natural look and making sure she keeps the look proportional to your body type. She really does a great job.

I need to share my story with others hoping to inspire you. So many people are reluctant to have plastic surgery on the parts of their body that need improvement. Lack of support from friends or family members could be a cause BUT, let me ask you, if your tooth was broken would you have it fixed or your arm is broke, do you fix it ? some things on our bodies seem acceptable to fix but others are not??? Okay, here I go, I lost 60 pounds and my skin was loose - so, I had an extended tummy tuck and a buttock lift. I found Dr. Short's character and style to be the most ethical. Dr. Short knew I wanted a thigh lift as well but, she did not feel it was necessary and she was able to lift my inner thighs enough through both procedures that I did not need to have the thigh lift !!! Do you know how many other plastic surgeons would have performed the thigh lift on me ?? Dr. Short is not only a Plastic Surgeon, she is an ARTIST. Dr. Short has given me freedom ... I can put on anything and not worry about what I look like from the rear....I don't have to worry about finding the right shirt to cover my behind....I can even wear thong underwear if I choose...I could never ever do that before. Its not that I want to wear thong underwear its the fact that Dr. Short has provided me the freedom to choose whether I wear it. Plastic Surgery is very personal and emotional and you want a Doctor and Staff that treats you as though you are the only one that matters - I do anyway, and that is why I chose the Gillian Institute..not only is Dr. Short caring, she sets an example for her staff and each one of them treat you special. I am a piece of fine art in progress and my Artist is Dr. Short. Some of you might find my testimony a bit emotional - you betcha !! I'm a 37 year-old mother of two, and since the age of 15, I had been burdened with very heavy, large, sagging breasts. I don't remember a time in my life when I didn't feel self-conscious. Then, God lead me to Dr. Short! After reading her credentials and having my initial consultation, I knew that I was choosing the best surgeon in Indiana to perform my breast reduction procedure. I will never forget the way I felt on the first day that I could go braless! My husband left and no kids were at home, and I cleaned the house NAKED! This was such a big deal for me; having never been comfortable in my own skin, I hated to look at myself in the mirror, and to now feel so good about myself that I was confident enough to be ME! Of course, this is not a common procedure at my house, but everyday, when I look in the mirror, I know I made the right decision, and have confidence that I had never experienced before!
