Welcome

When should I consider Otoplasty?
  • Ears that protrude (stick out) from the head
  • Ears that are not proportional to the face and head size

Anticipated Results:
  • Ears that are closer to the head
  • Ears that are more proportional

Typically, the incision is placed behind the ear and is very well concealed.  The incision allows Dr. Short to place sutures internally to pin the ear back and reshape the contour of the ear.  This procedure is performed on many children, teenagers, and young adults as well.  This procedure allows children to wear their hair short and in a ponytail if desired and improves self esteem.

Otoplasty Examples:

These patients are ideal candidates for an otoplasty or ear reshaping procedures.  The ears were reshaped by pinning the ear back in a natural contour. The patients below are pictured before and 6 weeks after surgery.
