Day of Surgery: This procedure can be performed on an outpatient basis under a local with IV sedation (twilight anesthesia) or general anesthesia (completely asleep). The surgeon resurfaces the skin by using a laser that emits a beam of energy which then vaporizes the upper layers of damaged skin at specific and controlled levels of penetration. Once the outer, damaged skin layers are stripped away, the new cells form and the result is a smoother, tighter, younger-looking appearance of the skin. After Surgery:
