Dr. Short removes tattoos with the McCue Variable Pulsed Light System, which uses heated light to target and absorb the colors in the tattoo.  The treatment feels similar to the popping of a rubber band on the skin.  Most patients feel it is less uncomfortable than the original tattoo placement.  Dr. Short pretreats the area with ice and/or EMLA anesthetic cream.  The number of treatments for complete removal typically ranges from 5 - 10 treatments, sometimes more for very large or highly colorful tattoos. Cost for Tattoo Removal is $150.00 to $1000.00 per treatment depending upon the size of the area treated.
