Don’t Tell People Your Plans, Show Them Your Results

CoolSculpting is a remarkable, non-surgical body contouring technique. It employs cryolipolysis, a process that removes fat cells by exposing them to below-freezing temperatures. Frozen fat cells go through apoptosis (cell death) and are eliminated naturally through the body’s lymphatic system. The procedure is FDA-cleared to eliminate stubborn pockets of fat from nine areas of the body. CoolSculpting is a safe and non-invasive procedure because fat cells are much more vulnerable to the cold than living skin cells. CoolSculpting scales-up this interesting observation to a consistent and reliable body contouring procedure. You may see up to a 20-25% reduction in troublesome fat bulges after only one session.[1]

CoolSculpting vs. Liposuction

CoolSculpting is an FDA-approved, non-invasive, non-surgical fat reduction method that uses spot-targeted cooling application to kill off fat cells, which are then naturally removed from the body. It does not require any anesthetics, pain medications, downtime, or recovery, nor is there any potential for scarring as no incisions are made during the procedure.[2]

Alternatively, liposuction is a surgical procedure involving incisions. Dr. Short uses a fine metal cannula wand to gently suck the fat out from the underlying tissue. Liposuction is a slightly more involved procedure that requires a couple of weeks of recovery. There is usually some level of discomfort, bruising and swelling that occurs.

Liposuction also tends to be more costly, but it can provide more immediately visible results, whereas CoolSculpting can take weeks or months before major results are noticeable.

Preparation & Procedure

CoolSculpting is a fairly quick and painless procedure. Many of our clients are in and out of The Gillian Institute in about an hour. The process begins when the CoolSculpting applicators are positioned to deliver controlled cooling to freeze and destroy the targeted fat cells. The applicator will apply gentile suction so as to sufficiently grip the target area. This will ensure that the treatment area will get comprehensive coverage by the coming cold. Any discomfort you may feel at the outset is only temporary as the anesthetic effect of the cold takes hold.

Many of our clients love coming to their CoolSculpting appointments because the procedure is so swift and simple. While the CoolSculpting system is at work, you can read, relax, take a nap or even stream your favorite show on your digital device. After your treatment, you are free to go on with the rest of your day. That’s because there is no downtime with CoolSculpting. It will take about a month and a half for your final results to fully flourish.[3] Many patients like to schedule several CoolSculpting sessions to maximize their results.

Recovery & Results

CoolSculpting clients frequently enjoy a 20% to 25% reduction of mass in the treatment area. Many patients report that they feel and look slimmer. We recommend scheduling your follow-up sessions about 30 days apart.

More FAQs

DOES BELLY FAT COME BACK AFTER COOLSCULPTING?

Cryolipolysis is a process in which fat cells are frozen, killed and naturally eliminated from the body. These fat cells are gone permanently and will not return. CoolSculpting clients are still perfectly capable of gaining weight, however. So, we encourage a healthy lifestyle in order to preserve the integrity of your results. The good news is that many people find it easier to maintain their weight after a body contouring procedure like CoolSculpting. If any lost weight does return, it is likely to gather differently than it did before CoolSculpting. Your body’s new shape will be reflected in any future weight gain, and you will look better than if you did not have the procedure at all. But the price of looking your best is to remain vigilant.

How Much Does CoolSculpting Cost in Indiana?

All of our aesthetic treatments at The Gillian Institute are customized to the individual. We treat our clients holistically because we know that real beauty also comes from the confidence of looking and feeling your best. At your confidential consultation, one of our medical professionals on staff will conduct a physical examination and intake interview. Once we have become acquainted with your case, we will prudently provide you with a comprehensive cost estimate.

DOES COOLSCULPTING REALLY WORK?

CoolSculpting is the “real deal.” Clients see real results with cryolipolysis, a freezing process that eliminates excess fat cells from targeted areas. As a non-invasive treatment, it has several benefits over surgical fat removal procedures. A CoolSculpting session is often far cheaper than liposuction, and it comes with much shorter recovery time.

HOW LONG DOES COOLSCULPTING LAST?

The fat cells that undergo cryolipolysis are expelled by the body and do not come back. However, CoolSculpting clients will still have to commit to a healthy lifestyle in order to maintain their results. CoolSculpting contours your body so that your fat is distributed more flatteringly. Even so, clients are still quite capable of gaining weight if they lapse into bad habits. CoolSculpting’s most satisfied clients use the procedure as a helpful nudge into taking better care of their bodies.

CAN YOU FREEZE YOUR FAT AT HOME?

Do not try to freeze your own fat at home. Unlike CoolSculpting, most at-home fat-freezing products are not FDA approved, so the results of using these copycat procedures can’t be guaranteed. They may even be dangerous. It is important to note that even though cryolipolysis is simple in concept, it is a difficult technique to master. Proper CoolSculpting requires precise and elegant machinery that may only be operated by a trained aesthetic professional. Don’t leave your looks (or your life) to chance with less reputable knock-offs. CoolSculpting’s real, lasting results are worth achieving in the right way.
